What will it cost?

 

Personal costs:

 

We need to raise as much money as possible in order to pay for the project and to bring the costs down for each person going on the trip. The budget cost is £1,300 per head inclusive except for extra clothing such as appropriate Scout scarves,
T-Shirts and Vaccinations that require payment.

 

Transport whilst in Kenya and accommodation and food is included as well as a short safari with a visit to one or two other landmarks.

 

The budget is based upon a team of at least 20 people.  Our aim is to raise as much of the total costs as possible and that could mean up to £25,000.

 

Why will it cost so much per head?  The flights alone could be in the region of
£900 per person.  

 

Project Costs:

 

The overall project budget cost is £5,000.  

 

This amount will be used to purchase all the building materials required for the work we undertake, the tools needed and to pay for local professional help with construction.  We will be camping during the two-week period and all cooking equipment, utensils, tents and sleeping bags will also need to be purchased.

 

We do not take any equipment with us other than our own personal items.  Everything we need for the project is purchased local to the project. By doing this, the entire project costs are used for the local community.

 

At the end of the project, we leave everything behind for the local community to use.  The team will also leave behind any clothes they do not want to take home for the Street Kids to have.
